The most buttery, soft, and flavorful bread that is made with only 6 simple ingredients that you likely already have in your home, including a bottle of beer and a whole stick of butter. All you need is 10 minutes to prepare the bread, then bake till the top is golden brown. No rising or yeast needed!
3 ¼cupsall-purpose flour(spoon and level into measuring cup)
¼cupgranulated sugar
1tablespoonbaking powder
1teaspoonsalt
1stickbutter, room temperature(8 tablespoons)
112-ouncebeer, room temperature(I like to use a brown or amber ale)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Generously grease a bread pan with 1 tablespoon butter.
In a small bowl, melt 4 tablespoons butter. Let cool slightly, so it's not hot.
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and then the beer. Use a sturdy spoon to mix together until combined.
Transfer the dough to the prepared bread pan and spread into an even layer. This is a rustic looking bread, so don't worry about it looking perfect.
In a small bowl, melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter and pour over the dough.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing. I like to eat the bread with lots of butter and honey!
